Here are the rules for zoom hearings in MN.
Please be ready 5-10 minutes before the scheduled hearing. You will be prompted into a “waiting room.” There may be other hearings scheduled at the same time so you may have to wait a little bit. As soon as the court is ready to call the case, the clerk will admit you into the hearing. Please note your mic will be muted upon entry.
Also, it is my understanding that you can choose to do audio+video, or just audio. Audio only is preferred. I believe the defendant and the Judge will be on video.
There are some basic rules.
No recording of any sort of the hearing (audio or video)
Keep microphone on mute at all times – please do not interject during the hearing, or speak- failure to do so may result in removal from the hearing, and inability to attend future ones as it could be considered contempt of court just as it would be if we were in the physical court room.
Please be respectful of offenders and others that may be on this call.
The chat function is not to be used in any capacity during these hearings, not to everyone, or privately throughout the call.
